5th gen Prelude mufflers (the dual tip ones) sound great for being stock. I would try to get one of those on, although I'd probably try to covert it to a single tip.
Really though, your best bet is probably an RS-R...fits what it sounds like you're looking for, and won't involve paying someone to bend pipes and install it, etc. When all is said and done, you could probably get an ExMag catback and put it in yourself for close to the price of buying an OEM one from another car and paying somebody to screw with it.

A catback isn't just a muffler, that's pretty reasonably priced. I'd think they could be found for cheaper though.
I was assuming you were gonna get pipes bent for a catback and then use an OEM muffler so that's why I threw the RS-R out there. Why just swap one stock piping and stock muffler for another?

Well, in a nutshell, changing the muffler doesn't make any power. If you put a different car's muffler on, it might change the sound a bit (nothing really noticeable), but if you got pipes bent to make it a full exhaust from the catylitic converter back to that stock muffler, you'd at least get some power out of it. An exhaust like the RS-R has a near stock sound, but more noticeable. It's nothing intrusive at all (I believe it's the quietest available) and has a very reserved look to it because of the black muffler and nice, angled tip that's not too big. And it's a catback exhaust, not just the muffler, so it'll gain some power.
If you just wanted to add another muffler, you'd probably have to pay someone who can weld the $40 and hour or whatever they charge. So if you bought the muffler for $100, and paid $80 in labor, you're at about $200. I dunno how cheap RS-Rs can be found for, but you can certainly find an Apexi WorldSport (similarly quiet and nice) for like $299 and install it yourself...then you'll have a good, full exhaust with a nice sound and bigger piping than stock.
The RSX Type S has a pretty nice muffler on it, I've seen that on some Civics I think...so another option might be to get 2.5" inch piping bent (aftermarket size) and use that muffler, I'm assuming that would run like $250 after all is said and done.

Yep, really nice exhaust and it's full stainless steel too, unlike the RS-R.

Did you leave out the resonators? I just realized that even a stock muffler might be loud if you don't use the resonators. I wonder how that sounds!

Hmm...odd, but I know the catback can be found on eBay for under $300 brand new.
