Default New Pontiac Trans-Am concept:

Came across this on another board and thought I'd share (did search and I don't think it's been posted). I love the whole retro look and hope they produce this thing. Start growing your mullet now

i dunno, i mean to me it looks like they took one of the new challangers, and choped it. But GM is the only one ive herd of making a 400hp v8 that can get 40MPG

hmm, yeah, looks like it will be a lightly redesigned Camaro, but I'd still choose it over the Chevy

very true, however...GM is leeching on this retro style because they're trying to find an open market to get people buying again. They cant get consumers interested by bringing out 2 of the same car (basically). Thumb down until they get some original ideas for a change

I'm tired of american companies relying on old dull revamped designs. The rest of the world is pushing cuttig edge design and technology.

That is nothing that GM or any other car company would release as a concept. It is clearly a photoshop that someone made on their computer. To make it more obvious check out the passenger side headlight. Its just one blurred mess. The rear wing on the back is all out of whack and too flat looking. Plus the cropping on it is way to jagged. The left mirror and the right one do not look the same and are not even close to the same shape. The front window is tinted and so are the sides. The decal on the hood is very close but doesnt line up perfectly and doesnt match the shading of the body of the car. The decal on the ram vent on the hood is out of shape and blurry. The decal on the front of the car doesnt follow any lines. Also the font that they used for those decals is the font that they use like in digital clocks and stuff. I highly doubt that GM would be using that on their cars. The side vent is not the same scale gray as the rest of the body of shading.

Dont get my wrong this is a very impressive chop for a concept car and makes people think about what might be possible, but it is not an official GM concept and if it is shame on you GM for not putting the time and effort into it to make it look totally realistic.

it's a 3d render, not a "photoshop"

I think that it was a chop used from the base of a Charger. I used to work as a 2D graphic artist in the gaming industry. If I ever even came close to texturing a model in that quality I would get in crap. You can tell it is not one because the fog light lines and other lines are so smooth but then when you get to the hood lines and the trunk lines it is all rough. In 3D modeling it would be done in a consistant fashion either all good or all bad.
