Default gut out my cat..yey or ney..

im runnin a GSR engine on my EJ1 coupe..i was wonderin if its a good idea to gut out my cat or just leave it as is...what would be some advantages of disadvantages of it..thanks any feedback is welcome..

Unless you're going turbo, I don't think you'll see much difference in power. IMO if you really want a strait pipe, get a test pipe. That way you can bolt your cat back on when it comes time to smog.

Don't do it. All you will get is an increase in turbulent flow through the exhaust.

too much work for not enough gains.

its easier to work 3-4 hours at whatever job you have and pay for a high flow cat. you could spend 3-4 hours gutting it... but that really really sucks.

as previously mentioned the easiest and cheapest thing to do would be to get a test pipe

take it off, sell it used (yes there is a market for such things) and then put on a high flow cat. Save money, time, environment, and it will be legal.
