Pre-heat manifold before welding?
just wonder and getting worried about warping the flanges when i weld the runners to the head flange and inlet flange. would it help pto preheat with a torch or oven prior to welding to prevent warping, or at least minimize it?
i am using the bmc race flange on the head. it isnt crazy think and it is cut on the inside i guess for heat disapation?

exactly. I would suggest torquing it to the head. let it cool til its room temp.

it doesnt look .5" and its undercut on the inside. i did not measure it though
