Default Pre-heat manifold before welding?

just wonder and getting worried about warping the flanges when i weld the runners to the head flange and inlet flange. would it help pto preheat with a torch or oven prior to welding to prevent warping, or at least minimize it?

i am using the bmc race flange on the head. it isnt crazy think and it is cut on the inside i guess for heat disapation?

just weld it bolted down to a head, and then let it cool down by its self, still bolted to the head.

I think BMC only makes 1/2" flanges. It's not that easy to warp them so just be careful with the heat and you'll be fine.

exactly. I would suggest torquing it to the head. let it cool til its room temp.
