turbo intercooler sizing
Hey I gonna go ahead and get a turbo intercooler before I put turbo in cause I am putting on body kit now and gonna paint it and I wanna work the front intercooler in before i paint it that way i dont screw nothing up...so I am wodering what size to go with...I plan on producing close to 300hp...hope this helps thanks
in my experience i would go with 2.5in piping and get a good intercooler core one that fits your budget real well. For a good deal i would go with a jrc fmic i love mine on my 300hp plus dsm. They have alot to choose from. johnnyracecar.com what turbo are you using?
also I meant best fitment to...Like will I need to cut front end up???cause I be putting on a wings west kit and want to do what ever I have to do to front end while I am swapping the body kit
Screw you guys, I'm... going... home.

Just a couple of general comments: 1) IMHO if you have a choice it is better to have an IC that is a little too large rather than one that is a little too small. Just think about the worst case senario for each one and that will explain why. Slightly more lag (if noticable at all) vs. less cooling, more restriction, more heat, etc. 2) don't forget that you can also use two smaller IC's run in parallel connected with smooth flowing "Y" pipes to avoid cutting huge chunks out of your new body kit. It's not a very common setup (that's a good thing, right?) but it works well and can make fitment a breeze.
p.s. I'm sure there are many who will disagree with me and that's fine, their opinion is just as valid as mine. Again, it's just my .02 and it's free advice so you get what you pay for.

... sooooo measure the space you have available under the new bumper and look for an IC that doesn't require much cutting. Don't expect OTHER people to KNOW how much space YOU have, because they won't! It's homework that only you can do, so get to it boiii!

You heard they bend easy? While driving a turbocharged car with a front mount, your intercooler doesn't have to withstand any forces that would even worry about causing bending. I've never heard of an IC bending or warping in any way from useage. I'm also pretty sure I can bend any ******* intercooler you give me with a hammer and some time.
