Default Did 2004-2005 EP3 Have Lightened Flywheel?

The EP3 CTR "facelift" in 2004 included a lightened flywheel for a slightly faster acceleration and better shifting.

Does anybody know whether the EP3 CTR lightened flywheel also made its way into the last EP3 USDM Si?

True, the 01-03 CTR flywheel weighs about 6.8 kg and the 04-05 facelift CTR flywheel weighs about 4.7 kg.

I seriously doubt it, but check the part numbers. Why update the USDM 160hp car?

Good idea. According to SLHonda parts # is 22100-PND-003 for both 03 and 05 models.

Tho.... there were rumors of 04/05 exhaust cam having a "slightly" bigger lobe compared to 02/03.
Thanks to Todd00's idea i check'd it.
02/03 CAMSHAFT, EX. Part# 14120-PNA-020
04/05 CAMSHAFT, EX. Part# 14120-PPA-010

I called slhonda.com parts dept and questioned this difference and the guy replied...
"you would need to ask the honda engineers"

[shrugs] its maybe nothing....

Different exhaust cam will make little difference in power. They might have done it to offset the extra weight (or for emissions), but who knows.

Extra duration or height on the intake cam is where the power is.
