Default PaceSetter Cat-Back exhaust

What do you guys think of the PaceSetter catback exhaust for the 88-91 crx 1.6L? I have one, it used to be installed on the car, till I changed to a different type of muffler, I thought it was alright, but not that great, better than the stock one though Anyway, at cruising speed it would have a sort of whistle-like sound to it, like when you blow air into a glass coke bottle or wine bottle, you know? Anyway, let me know what you guys think of it, I'm thinking about putting it back on. Also, do you guys recommend any others that are at about the same price with better performance results?

Default Re: PaceSetter Cat-Back exhaust (sLcREX)

Do you have an aftermarket intake? If so the whistle noise is normal..

In my opinion the pacesetter is good for a stock replacement,,But the piping is pretty small and the metal they use is garbage..You want a good exhaust around the price of a pacestter then check out a tsudo/or obx exhaust,, 2.5" stainless catback piping, resonator, decent size muffler,4" tip,,and new gaskets..The ting that sucks on those exhausts is how the muffler sits,,but it sounds good, slight rasp on mine at around 5200rpm but thats due to no catylist converter on my car..Now alot of people on this site say those exhausts suck but they've probably never tryed them..
