code 22 oil pressure switch
Ok, I have searched for this and haven't found anyone with the same problem. I have an h22a in my 93 hatch. When I start my car in the morning and let it warm up, I come out a few mins later and the cel is on. So i turn the car off and start it up and it turns off. But today I started and let it run a few mins, then drove it (cause the cel never came on) and after about 5 mins the cel came on and my car wouldn't go into vtec. Does this sound like it could be a loose wire or a loose pin on my ecu?
I throw the same code in my 93 civic w/ B16a swap. I never have any problems with vtec engagement...in fact that's the only time the cel comes on. It's right around 6500 rpm that this happens but only from 3rd 4th or 5th gear.
I can rev the ****** to 8200 rpm in 1st and second, but like I said it throws the cel only in 3rd 4th or 5th...usually 3rd though.
My mechanic said it was code 22, vtec oil pressure switch. Doesn't hurt my engine at all but should be replaced.
As for your problem not even getting into vtec...I would def check out all your wiring around your vtec solenoid, or your solenoid might be worn.
Good luck

I was going to do that, and my friend also said that it could be a loose wire in the distributor... so I think I'm gonna have to check that out too.
