Here's a pic:

This car is the cleanest 4th gen I have ever seen. Interior is immaculate, the engine bay and motor are spotless, wheels, brakes, etc. are all perfect.

Let me add to his mods:

99 Civic Si front spindles with the 10.4 in. rotors and calipers, camber kits too.

Tanabe Racing Medallion for CR-X lengthened to fit - looks perfect.

DC header, custom CAI to fit on the B18C1 in the 89 body.

Coil-overs and KYB-AGX adj. struts too.

21mm rear swaybar too

Bad *** car!

Anyone?

Okay, but you will not find a cleaner EF around, and with a B18C1 to boot too!

Only 170K on the body, but you'd never know it...

Okay, how about this then:

Tanabe Racing Medallion made for the 1992 Civic Si hatchback, and yes it sits at an angle.

Nice try though

I had to make it sit that way by putting a tighter clamp on one side to clear the sway bar...i could put another on the other side, but you can only see it when you pay alot of attention..and get down real low and level with it ......ok it looks like *** sorry, I will try out the glasspacks that people seem to like so much nowadays.

How many people do you know with the same setup on an 88-91 civic hatch???

I would like to see their pictures...

Nevermind asses.

If you have to pick the God Damned car apart and can't even see the beauty in the set-up, then you would not deserve to own the car then.

I guess if it had a 1st-gen B16A swap and the same ******* DC Sports or whatever exhaust it would be tizzite y0!

And the CR-X DOES sit cocked too - need I find a picture of one? Another pal of mine has one.

...And not be an ***, but with people trying to sell ZC-swapped Civics and CRXs for $8,500 like this:

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=151771

Then I think $6,500 is a KILLER deal for a B18C1-powered Civic that is totally clean and has lots of mods.

with that kind of crappy attitude, I don't think ANYONE would want to do business with you. As far as the other guy with the ZC goes, I think he's asking too much money too... If you sell your car for more than 5 grand, then congrats to you, but you're asking too much... you make it sound like you're doing everybody a favor by selling us your car... no pics of the engine? no pics of the interior? Bah. It makes me wonder what else has been "modified to fit" like your exhaust.... take a chill pill, grow up, and act like an adult.. Not some thug from South East with a chip on his shoulder... *sigh*

Well, it's not even my car, but a friend's car.

People who come on for sale posts and try to pick cars apart or rip on them are dicks - Plain and simple.

The Tanabe Racing Medallion is arguable the best exhaust out there in terms of flow, craftsmanship, sound, etc. so just because it was lengthened to fit the longer Civic body doesn't mean you have to try and make it seem ghetto. For that you are an ***.

Would the car be cooler if it just had the same old Greddy, DC Sports, HKS Hiper, or Tanabe Hiper that all curve around like the stock system does? The *** end of the Civic and CRX are the SAME, so adding some length in the middle of the CRX exhaust doesn't change how it sits.

The owner also mentioned that he has a 22mm swaybar back there, and he had to slightly move the exhaust over some too so the 2 would not hit. I guess having a swaybar is lame too then?

If you are interested in a car, then by all means post up, but if all you can do is say bad things about the car, then don't even post.

You are the haters for trying to make a nice car look bad.

Oh, and every Tanabe RD I've seen comes out at an angle. I have 2 1992 hatches with them, and I have literally 6 other buddies all with that exhaust - all come out at an angle.

Here's a shot of my 2 hatches with Tanabes:

The one on the left might appear straight, but it's not - you're looking straight at it because the camara is angled.

Here's another shot to prove that I know plenty of others with Tanabes:

The Red and White hatches there have the Tanabe RD too. I work at that shop in the picture, and trust me we have installed plenty of Tanabe Exhausts. They all come out at an angle - some slightly more than others depending on which model car you have.

Just because you have two Civics with that exhaust, doesn't mean you know how it's going to sit on a CRX... I've personally seen that exhaust on a CRX, and it comes out straight.. the guy says it himself.. he "modified" it to clear his sway bar... At what point did I call the exhaust ghetto? for trying to put words in my mouth, YOU are an ***.

the car would be "cooler" if it had an exhaust system that fit properly, not one that's been bent and tweaked...

I'm not trying to talk bad about the car at all... I'm talking bad about the owner. When you advertise something for sale, you try to put your best foot forward. You act professional, courteous, and informative. You don't leave it up for a few hours, and then start spouting off because nobody's replied yet.. All that does is make you look like an immature little punk. Do you want to buy a car from an immature little punk? Didn't think so. give me a break. Just because you "work at a shop", that doesn't automatically make you a qualified expert in "modifying and adjusting the routing of Tanabe Racing Medallion exhaust systems".. He had the pipe lengthened... Hm.... how do you do that? I would wager that he had the pipe cut, and an extension welded in... Well gee, all that extra slag from welding those to pipes together isn't going to affect the flow inside exhaust system now is it? Oh, I'm sorry... I guess I shouldn't bring up how whatever shop did the work probably didn't use Stainless piping or solder either... So much for any type of warranty on the exhaust system too... How about this... Will the guy selling the system give me a warranty for the next two years on the exhaust system? Doubtful...

I'm not trying to pick apart his car. I actually thought it looked kind of nice.... the person I really have a problem with is you, for trying to pass yourself off as some kind of authority in performance tuning... So, since you work at a shop, why don't you go install a spoiler, or some altezzas, and leave the REAL tuning to the people who know what they're talking about (IE-NOT YOU).

In fact, now that I go back and read the posts again, I realize that the owner of the car sounds like an okay guy.. It's you, his "friend" that has made his for sale post go to sh$t. *sigh* gawd. people like you give me a headache.

Oh my God you are a moron. It took you how long to figure out that I wasn't the seller?

Try READING the posts before you go off looking like an ***. Hey coolguy, I don't know how shops modify exhuasts in your "neck of the woods" but here we used a slightly oversized pipe that barely "sleeved" over the Tanabe piping and then welded to the outside of the Tanabe piping so there would be no slag and **** inside the exhuast. There may be an ever so slight lip inside, but no worse than any DC header.

Seeing as how I have about 3 other friends all with Tanabe Racing Medallion exhuasts on CRXs I think I know how they hang too. I can't wait to get out the digi cam and snap off a pic and posts it here so you'll shut the **** up.

See, you probably see me as some stunna that knows nothing about Hondas, and that I probably just hopped on the ******* bandwagon, but that is not the case.

Unlike a lot of people, I have been into Hondas all my life and have only owned Hondas. I have been working at various Honda dealers and Acura dealers since 1997, and I have done numerous engine swaps and I am in the process of a complete ground-up build up on my current car, so I know my way around the cars. I currently work at a Honda and Acura only shop that also does high performance build-ups along with all the mechanical scheduled services too. I worked as a tech until the work got very unsteady, so I work the parts now to collect a stable check.

Trying to say that I need to leave the "real" tuning to others is ******* retarded. What do YOU do Lt. Dan? What qualifies YOU to make such bold statements? Are you a tech or something? Have you ever seen the inside of an engine? Do you know how it works? Know how to blueprint a bottom end?

I'd like to see a pic of your car since you like to rip on the owner of this car.

By the way - his exhaust piping isn't "bent and tweaked" like you try to make it sound like. Since he added a REAL rear swaybar which means it's thick, so ANY exhuast would have hit it and thus have to be moved over slightly. There is a piece of rubber tubing that had to be place around the rear swaybar so it would not rattle against the exhuast - that pushes the exhaust over just slightly, but it would do that on ANY aftermarket exhuast though.

If you indeed know a good deal about tuning and whatnot that's great, but it still doesn't mean that you have to make assumptions about people and act like they don't know **** about Hondas.

Since you said that little crack about "leaving the real tuning to somebody else" or whatever, I thought I'd post a few pics of my current project:

But I suppose that tearing a car down completely for a total color change and then reassembling it with batter parts isn't "real" tuning in your book, so what is?

There will be an entirely different topic on my friend's car for sale since this one went way off topic. I am partly to blame for this, but I didn't get pissed until people had to come in and take shots on the car that was for sale.

READ the thread and see what started it all - ******** trying to pick apart a car that is for sale.

trying to compare YOUR process of extending an exhaust to the construction of a DC Sports, or ANY quality header is completely *** backwards. You see, quality comanies slip the forward pipe INSIDE the trailing pipe. This is done for two reasons. The first is flow= if you assemble the exhaust in this fashion, you don't end up with the little "lip" you mention in your previous post. The second is safety= over time, the welds on an exhaust system rust out.. when they do, it's an opportunity for the piping to leak. if it was designed the way you supposedly built it, the exhaust gases would be able to force there way out much easier than if it was built properly. BUT, I suppose you already knew that, right? BTW- if you'd like to know where I get my knowledge from, I think it first stems from being a crew chief in the Marine Corps, where I worked on MH-53s, and got two meritorious promotions for my outstanding work in the field. After that, I went to work for an Acura dealership in my area, Got my ASE Certification in A1 engine repair, auto tranny, manual tranny, engine performance, X1-exhaust systems, HVAC, suspension and steering, brakes, and of course electrical. I have fully completed the Acura Training course offered in Mount Laurel NJ, and I am current through September of 2001. You may say that you've worked at several dealerships, But I know guys that have work for dealerships for a couple years, and they can't get past being a helper. Don't question my knowledge on the subject. I've had the training, have you?

Well seeing as how you are military I totally respect you for that, and I have no reason to argue with you over anything. I'm totally serious.

And I also see that you are highly trained for Acuras, so again nothing but respect from me there too.

Only problem I had was people who posted onyl to rip on the car being sold, and then your comment about me and "real" tuning.

God bless you for serving our country - I'm done arguing about petty ****.
