stolen teg found....
i had a gsr in a type R shell....aem intake, dc 4-2-1 header, greddy evo exaust. the car was stolen last thursday.
the car was found in perris, CA. and i went to the to brothers towing, the place is was at. the car was completly stripped. everything.the only thing in it were my cd's. they obviously didnt like any metal..ahaha but still the car had nothing in it just a frame. they didnt take the suspension or my 17" wheels which was really weird. I have full coverage insurance. Anyone know what my estimate is going to be? the vin says its a Type R which it is, but it just has a gsr motor in it because of its previos owner. The insurance doesnt know of this so i believe theyll list it as a 98 type R. 72000 miles, mint condit.
thanks for your help and time.

And youre right, they should just list it as a 98 r, so you seem like youre gonna luck out and possibly get a new type r engine to go in there, but im not 100% sure.</TD></TR></TABLE>
yea that would be nice, but chances are they are going to total it, haveing nothing left except the shell, would be a total, unless somehow you luck out, that would be pretty sweet,
if they do total it buy it back from the insurance for dirt cheap.

since they stripped everything, essentially salvaged, they will decide if it will cost them (the insurance company) more money to restore it or to pay you blue book value. from the sound of it, they will most likely pay you blue book value cause it's most likely cheaper.
their is no blue book value on the 98 type R........and if you saw what it looked like i garentee they wont restore it.....buying it back??? what would i do with it? its literally just a shell...

Rebuild it or sell the shell.

It's not even worth buying it back unless they gave it to you for dirt cheap. You will probably get compensated for the value. It's a good thing that you have theft coverage.

do a search on stolen cars and you'll see that a lot of people have gotten some pretty good settlements on their type Rs. depending on the year and miles... and state where you're from... i've seen anywhere from 14000-18000.... good luck!
