When I finished rebuilding my D16A6 and looked at the intake manifold, I noticed that there's a spot it looked like some solenoid would mount to. After looking through my Helm's manual, I discovered that's where the fast idle solenoid goes. Now, apparently some cars didn't even come with this, but it looks like mine had one at one point, as there is a spot to mount it and an empty vacuum connector on the intake mani that's supposed to go to it. Now I know it's not necessary for proper operation of the engine, but I'm wondering how I should go about plugging the mounting spot and the vacuum port on the manifold.
Another question, I have a 1991 CRX HF shell that is devoid of an engine bay harness. I am able to get a good harness from a 1989 CRX Si for fairly cheap. Is the HF like the DX in the fact that the interior harness and engine bay harness does not match up with the Si? (Basically, will the Si harness work when connected to the HF's interior harness)

You mean you left it completely open? No idle issues or anything? Cause when I started up my engine, fresh rebuild, it has been idling at 2.6k. I turned it off fairly quickly cause that's bound to be bad for it and it was getting dark, so I left the car to figure it out for another day. Could I just need to adjust the throttle cable or the idle screw? Also, I don't have the throttle body bolted on completely as I lost the one bolt, this may explain some of the issues too.

well mine has everything bolted up still i just left it on there.but you need to get another bolt for your intake mani that would clear up your idle some and try adjusting the idle screw..ill try to find some pics maybe im confused hehe.

What I'm talking about should be on the back of the intake manifold, where the IACV is, except all the way to the end, farthest from the throttle body. It's a very small port. I was thinking about getting a piece of sheet metal and fabricating a blockoff plate, but I'd really prefer to actually have the Fast Idle Valve, I don't see why Honda would include it if it wasn't necessary.
Idling high isn't gonna be bad for your car any more than driving on the interstate with our short geared b16 trannies. You're usually revved in the 3-4k range for an extended period of time doing that.
