Jdm Type R Rev Limit!!!!!
Everything in the engine is designed for fatigue. This means that you could probably rev it much higher than redline, but for nowhere near as long as if you stayed below redline (this is of course disregarding valve float...once that happens they are probably gone)
ive been told anything over 8600 you need valve springs and or retainers. im sure you could get away without them but theres not point in revving that high with stock cams.

pretty much...
the whole red part of the guage is the section you should shift at. So 8500-10,000 RPM is when you should shift at. (thats JDM for you)

it really shouldn't matter how high you can rev your engine, safely or not.
All that matters is when you stop making power, thats when you should shift. And on a stock build you won't be making power high enough to worry about hurtin the motor. Be smart with it.

The only reason to rev past that high is if your on a road course and coming into a turn where you want to go faster, but upshifting will loose you time since the next turn will come up very soon and you would have to downshift. That is the only time i found my 8500 rev limit on my JDM R a problem. Lucky me, the stock gauge cluster is off and 9k on mine is about 8400 in reality so on the road course, I will let it get up to 9k claimed if nessecary so I dont loose time.
