So you dont have any sort of exhaust at all?? Just a 3" pipe. First off installing a cat (catalytic converter) will help bring the noise level down. Also installing any sort or muffler, or resonator will help.

With the correct selection of parts you should not loose any power, and it will be nice and QUIET!!!!

If i was to weld the wastegate pipe into the downpipe will tat silence it. Cos it sounds like my car is running straight open headers right now.

probably a hi flow cat. and a nice quiet straight though catback like a greddy 3" exhaust (supposedly all under 95db for being street legal) will be the best way

My car is running fine now n my car is real silent with a 3" straight pipe and a magnaflow exhaust. It sounds a lil louder then the stock SI exhuast but not by much. Turbo is super quiet.

If I had a turbo GSR I wouldn't want it to quit, i'd want it to live forever!

well of course is gana sound liek open headers if you have a test pipe.
a resonater might not do to much if he doesnt have a cat, make a good cat selection, muffler and you should be fine gl

Order a nice straight through 3" muffler and be done. All this talk about a cat is silly. Expensive and HP-robbing.

Why not run a cat 5-10hp is not going to make or break you plus a $1k ticket is not worth it

Yeah the ticket is a good point. Dummy cat? The fumes are not fun either.

on my turbo setup i had 3" dp, 3" hedman cat, 3" thermal with no resonator and it was almost a stock quiet. i took out the cat and ran straight pipe with some 404's and the thing came alive! idled like a muscle car and when floored, sounded like a bat out of hell!
