what hole saw to use for sch pipe?
i tried an ACE bi-metal one yesterday. at first it looked like it was cutting fine, but then one of the tooth broke. i wasnt going fast, i had it on the drill press. i backed off every now and then.
i was going to try the homedepot one next, but i guess not. any other suggestions? where do i get the milwaukee ones.

the ones from Home Depot or Lowes will work (Lenox etc) if you go slow enough and keep it cool. I use these and can usually do 2-3 manifolds per hole saw. A lot of people dont have a problem keeping it cool (water bottle or cutting oil) but they dont go slow enough.

Use the best, Starrett, only cost an extra $2 over the cheap homedepot holesaws and last for ever (my holesaw for logs has lasted over 20 manifolds so far!)
Just use the bi metal Starretts and you will be fine

I just used a Starrent bi-metal...it was painted yellow if that means anything.
Anyhow, It cut 3 holes great...going nice and slow but then on number 4 it lost 5 teeth within the course of a minut and is now useless.
Maybe just bad luck?

In the machine shop I can use hole saws to cut through steel like butter, but that is with a professional drill press and good clamping. At home I tend to chew hole saws up. Probably inducing side loads on the teeth.
