Default Poor Man's Jdm Hatch

Well i love the way the red pinstripe looks, the jdm look. and since im poor due to college books, i cant afford the real jdm bumpers and mouldings. So, i decided to simply pin stripe my hatch with regular 1/4" red pinstripe from my local autoparts.
enjoy the pics, comments welcomed and appreciated. dont know if this should belong in appearence and cosmetics, but i think id be make more fun of there then here. thanks guys.

looks like you have a 90-91 am i correct?

It doesn't look right to me tell you the truth. Only looks right on the 88-89 moldings since they are closer to the jdm moldings. But thats just my opinion. If you like it... Keep it.

well, i havent used it to my full advantage yet. i would recommend either converting to obd-1 and use a vtec ecu. or chip your pm6 before u do the head swap. i noticed my car got slower by about 1.5 sec in the tracks. might be that my timing might be off a little, or something else. my car isnt tuned either as well. i think i should of left my car the way it was. but too late now. many other people are really happy though, dont know how... anyways, if you have any questions about the swap, let me know, ill help you out.

Yea I'm in need of the other 2 blades.
As for the suspension, they're oem springs, bul melted. I was too poor to get some coils or coilovers so I took it to the handy muffler shop, and they put the torch to the metal. Rides ok, not perfect, but a lot better then I thought.

Lol no problem dude, hope it turns out good. In the future I will change my moldings to the 88-89 ones and as well as my bumpers. But for now, these are staying. Good luck man. Thanks for the compliment.

only because you have 90-91 trim and bumpers...

if you had 88-89 then maybe.

this jdm bullshit is overrated.

i can see buying stuff that is useful, i can buying see stuff that looks cool, what i can't see is that people who refuse to use stuff that is same quality, exact look, specifications, whatever, just because it wasnt shipped over from the land of the rising sun.

*although ive never compared in person* i heard that the 88-89 moldings were the same as the jdm moldings, just missing the red line. so let me get this straight then, some of you wouldn't sport 88-89 moldings with pin-stripe on them because they are jdm oem? damn people, you guys are starting to sound like a bunch of ricers. its been said once and i'll say it again. JDM is the new RICE.

no offense to anyone in particular but sheesh people come on. i can see using a jdm front end conversion, even converting a car from lhd to rhd, but this molding thing has got to be one of the worst. spending butt-loads of money to get your car that jdm-blingness won't make it faster, wont make it cooler (it will though, in some people's eyes )....

i guess you can say im a function over fashion type guy to some extent, it just peturbs me when stuff like this comes up. why spend so much damn money on appearance on super-rare m4d tyt3 jdM y0 parts when you can get the same if not better quality (not shipped around the world) more common USDM parts when they are a ton cheaper and pull off the same effect.

sorry for my rant that really has no point.

TO EACH HIS OWN

have a nice day.

It looks alright from afar. Up close is teh suck. If you were able to get a straight line all the way around it would look pimp either way. Take it to a specialist. I bet he would charge $20 to pin stripe it.
