go to honda-tech.com, then click 92-00 civic/ del sol, then look at the very top of the page and you will see where it says [faq] What swap are available for my civic? then click that and you should be set.

to answer your question i would go b18 because h22 is too much work

I wouldn't pay for an installation it is pretty simple, and you might learn something, I would buy an LS B18B-B18A and boost it with that money, probably best bang for your buck you would be looking at around ~220hp decently tuned.

with that money installed, you wont be able to find an h22 or a b18. but if you do the installation yourself, i would go with a b18, its a great all around motor. h22 needs motor mounts and axels which gets pretty pricey. and even though its not THAT much heavier, it does affect the handleing still. go b18, you wont regret it. motor has great potential

Well yeah, pick up an LS swap for $1000 or less throw in a block guard some routine maintenance maybe $200, that still leaves $1300 for a junkyard turbo or a used kit in the classifieds and some tuning. Sounds very possible to me, but you are an idiot so...

depending on where you get the engine its going to be hard to find an h22 for that much. i got my jdm b16 for 2200 from hmotorsonline and then shipping was another 360. but you definatly going to have to put it in yourself with your pricerange
