Insert? Are you referring to the piece of foam that goes inside the jacket's liner?

Or a real back protector, which stays affixed/strapped to your body when the jacket comes off?

Go for the latter - it's more protective than a simple insert.

I have an A* Tech back protector. It adds roughly 4-5" to my overall waist, so that will definitely be a factor to see if it will fit. If you can get to a shop near you, try on different back protectors with your jacket. And try them while sitting on your bike. Some back protectors will "creep" up when you assume the position and can become big annoyances against the back of your head/neck.

theres a foam insert already in the jackets liner, but theres also a ce certified insert you can buy to put in there for added protection. yeah i know i read up on protectors and strap on ones, offer more protection and go as far down as ur tailbone, for my daily driven jacket id like to get the insert.

Ahh, in that case I'm not really sure. Try calling some places to see what they say.

I've always had great customer service from Terra Powersports and New Enough. Knowledgeable and friendly.

Good luck in your search and let us know what you find.

your probably a large. I had an alpinestars Tz-1 sz. 40/50 and i used a medium size rc back protector. I sold the jacket and bought a SMX airflow jacket, size 38/48 and the medium sized rc back protector dont fit, its to long, so it wouldnt zip closed, so i got a back protector laying around, gonna buy a size small when i get my *** to a local shop. maybe even the medium will fit.
