Default butterflies not working on a JDM B18C motor? why?

why does my friend's GSR motor bone stock doesnt change tone at 5700 when the butterflies suppose to open? stock JDM ECU, stock manifold btw

you shouldn't really hear a difference on a bone stock motor

take off the top half of the intake box...leav it off....drive it and im sure you will hear it...thats how my car was too...now its a differeent story....you can really hear the secondaries and its loud :-D

i know the intake makes the secondaries sound loud, is ur motor JDM?

Make sure the secondaries are hooked up correctly with the vacuum hose....alot of people just leave them open all the time for whatever reason.

Same thing happened to me, check your temperature gauge if its warm enough because vtec only work at a certain temperature. You can change your themostate which will do the trick.

VTEC and the intake manifold butterflies have nothing to do with each other. also, you shouldnt have to change your thermostat if your engine is running properly... let it warm up like it needs to. it doesnt matter about the butterflies anyway
