No click from Starter
So my crx was not turning over so I thought it was the starter. So i swapped it out and still nothing. I get power to everything but when it comes to turning the key nothing happenes. But if I take a wire from the positive terminal to the wire from the starter it starts. So I went through and torqued down the terminals, tightened the starter wires and checked the starter signal fuse. All good. What could be the deal. Any input is appreciated!
Check your battery cables. Sounds like you have a corrosion problem possibly inside of the cable.
The second person: are you getting battery power on the main power and for the ignition switch signal?

So I went throught and re-did all the grounds out of 0ga wire. Anyways I replaced the ground from the clutch adjustmer to the frame, also the one from the frame to the battery. I also re-did the wire from the positive terminal to the starter and nothing still. I can still put a wire from the positive terminal to the starter and it will turn over. What the hell could this problem be. Obviously its not getting power!! Help me out!!

the whole car works except for that. It will start and run great only when i use a wire from the battery to the starter. i have not a clue what else is left
Well I'm no electrical genius, but my guess is that if you're not turning it (let alone any power signal at all) at the key ignition, but turning it over with a wire at the starter, my guess would be that a wire is short-circuited or burned out between the ignition switch and the starter. Definately something worth checking. If you have a buddy with you, have you or him see if you're getting power through from the ignition wire to the starter. if you're not, then that should be the culprit. if that's not the case, then I would in the least buy a switch and hotwire the starter to it and just use that instead
Is it manual? Do you see any little pieces of rubber in the drivers floorboard? If you do, there is a rubber piece at almost the very top of the clutch pedal, way up under the dash that activates the clutch safety switch. if it is gone, find something to replace it. I've heard of someone gluing a nickle where the plug went and it worked fine.

I used a voltmeter and this should explain it.

Okay its a 1988 CRX Si (5 spd) is there a starter relay or anything electrical that I can change!!!

does your car have a neutral safety switch? If it does, look at my earlier post. If you have checked my earlier post, let me know and we can continue from there.

Get an electrical tester, and with the car off check the battery. It should read around 12V. If not then u got a battery problem. With the car on, test the battery again. It should read 14V because of the ALT. IF u getting significanlty less than 14V then u have an ALT problem. But since ur car isnt running, I guess u cant really test the ALT. But if the solenoid on the startter is bad, then just change out the whole thing. U can get a rebuilt one for about $50 with trade in of the old one. Its a lot less hassle. But check the battery first.
Okay the car runs only when you start it with a wire to the starter. It actually runs really well. Anyway I took the starter off today and it was tested and passed. So its not the starter. Its an 88 si so I was told they dont have a starter relay. If Im wrong let me know and since its an 1988 you dont have to push the clutch in. So there should be no clutch pedal switch. Ill check the alternator tomarrow but the battery is brand new. Ill get back tomarrow. Im dedicating all day to the rex tomarrow. Going under the dash and tightening every ground. So throw me all the suggestions and Ill do it tomarrow!!!

I posted this a few posts back ago and was not informed if it was tested or not. I'm still pretty sure what I said above is correct despite my lack of electical knowledge. If its worth trying in the least, test and make sure you're getting a connection from the ignition switch to the starter with a tester. If that fails then check what ground points are connected to both the ignition switch and starter and check them. I myself don't see what else could possibly be wrong if the starter works, the ignition switch and the wires in-between are untested and the fuses are all in working order. If its not something related to the ignition switch then I give.

Surprised nobody mentioned this before, whats the voltage on the battery, if is below 9.6 it might not start or have a hard time. If you checked the battery and you are 100% sure that is above 9.6v then im sure that you checked all the grounds..
On the place where you said that there is no 12v, do you get any readings at all?
