Default HKS Hi-Power Dual Exhaust for MY00

where is the best place to pick up this exhaust? lowest i've seen online is around $800 still with $100+ shipping. Used ones are fine also, any recommendations on where to go online or around the sj bay area?

Hmm if HKS Hi-power dual loses a few hp, why do a lot of people get it? I like the look of dual exhausts over single anyway, but is the hp loss (if any really at all) really that noticeable? Cant seem to decide whether I should get single or dual now hmm :/

I'm guessing people buy it because it is supposed to be the best sounding exhaust for an s2000? But even that is open to interpretation.

more incorrect information....

HKS does not lose power.. there has been no dyno proof of this... there was one guy that had it on his car that lost some power on the dyno but it was due to heat soak and his intake... not the exhaust...

i have the hks exhuast, 4ig cai and vafc II and i dynoed at 210rwhp in 90 degree temperature with 50% humidity... and i was suffering from heatsoak by the time the vafc was tuned....

I have one to and I dynoed over 300whp with the s/c while Ive seen others dyno much lower with different exhausts. What it comes down to is you cant really go by dyno numbers. None of the dual exhauts will do that much hp wise. Will you notice a power difference while driving between HKS and say Amuse, no.

Everyone does say the HKS saounds nice, but I added a Berk tech test pipe and I hate the sound now.

Wow....H-T.com's S2000 is filled with such incorrect information, post after post.

To the original poster, careful to who and what you read.

I've owned two HKS exhausts for my S2000. In fact, the HKS was my first mods for the car many years ago. Personally, I think it is the BEST sounding exhausts for the S2000 hands-down as compared to MANY single and dual exhausts out there for the S2000.

I sold the first one in favor for a Mugen one. The one I had, had some issue with build quality. King Motorsports didn't have a replacement in stock, so they refunded me, and I bought another HKS exhaust. I ran that one for another year only to go back to Mugen.

I did lose power vs. OEM. However, I lost 1 hp at peak (and nowhere else), but gained 2 ft. lbs of torque from 2700 rpm and on (across the whole rev range)! I also saved about 4 lbs of weight (not much, but 4 lbs is still 4 lbs). I gained little, but got a GREAT sounding exhaust.

You decide.

HKS is nice...

the only thing that stoped me from getting one was the resonator inbetween both canisters...

HKS makes it hard to run a diffusor...lots of modding to a top secret to make it fit...the feelz works ok i think

And you find this to be relevant in what way?

HKS system fits just fine, just to pick the J's over the HKS for lack of heritage is just plan stupid.
