ticking noise coming from engine
I was driving my car today and i noticed a ticking noise coming from the motor. When i got home i opened hood to look at the motor when it was still running. The ticking noise seems to be coming from around the timing belt/cam gears. Also i checked my oil and it barely had any so i put some oil in. It still ticked after i put the oil in. Also when it is reved to higher rpms the tick gets faster. Does anyone know what the problem might be and how to fix it. Thanks.
Also i have a b18c1 motor if you need to know.

i have never had a valve adjustment so that might be it.
I was thinking something worse like a bent valve or thrown rod since it is pretty loud.

Those LMA's are fricken expensive. I looked on sunnyside acuras site that all 8 would cost $350 bucks. I saw on the all motor forum that you can use prelude lma's that are 8 bux a piece and all u need is a 1/4 washer. Im still skeptical even though OMNIMAN is the one that started the thread. I dont know what to do. I dont want to pay 350 for them plus the intense time of install, or risk my motor.
Anyother input on this?

how can i fugure out which one it is. I know i would have to take valve cover off and everthing to get to the valves but what about the LMA's. Would i be able to do this myself with a manual or should i take it to a shop.
i am not sure what it is it just started ticking real loud and it sounds like it is coming from around the cam gears and timing belt area. How can i check to find out what it is coming from.

Yea i just put more in and it is full now. I checked it right when it started and the oil was about 1 quart low so i added a quart.

No i didn't figure it out yet. I'm going to do a compression test and check the timing today. Hopefully that will tell me what the problem is. Someone told me that if the timing is off it might make the valves hit the top of the pistons so maybe it is just the timing. Also if I have a bent valve would I have to replace the whole head or just put in a new valve.
alright i did a compression test and everthing was normal there. I also checked the timing and that was off alittle so i moved it forward but it still ticks. The only other thing that i can think of is that the valves need adjusted so i will check that and see and hopefully that will be it.

Either that, or it's his injectors. Your injectors are always going to make a 'ticking' noise, get used to it.
