Default Water Temp/Oil Temp gauge install.

Last thursday/friday, when I did my clutch install on my 95 lude, the sensor for my water temp gauge broke... more like fell apart. The rubber housing was so brittle, it just broke off. I took this oppertunity for me to finally decide on getting gauges. I knew I wanted to get a oil temp gauge, but now i'm going to get a water temp gauge. Autometer makes a 2 gauge pod:

I am going to use the Megan Racing Oil and Water temp gauges because they: (Note: Sensor and all hardware is supplied for installation.)

If i ever choose to boost, I will just mount it somewhere else.
My question is does anyone know of a write up or tutorial that explains the steps to installing both, or simply just the water temp gauge? On a lude would be even nicer. Or if anyone that has done it on their lude could write me up some steps that they went thru, that'd be great! I don't think it should be all that hard, but you never know till you know.

Thanks in advance!

Are these electrical or mechanical?
The gauges will come with an instruction and a wiring diagram. I have installed a megan gauge. Its very easy.

According to http://935motorsports.com/cata...d=815 the gauges are electrical.

The rubber housing I was talking about being briddle and falling apart.

Circled in white is where the sensor fell out.

This is the sensor that fell out.

Does this help any?

Wow, looks like it did fall apart! You could probably order a new sender pretty cheap if you had to, but gauges are also good.

I installed Defi electric gauges in my track car. The oil temp sending unit in the oil pan close to the drain bolt, and the water temp sensor is located in the water outlet in the head. The 5Gen has no water temp sensor there, whereas the 4Gen does. I just drilled and tapped that part of the outlet and installed a 3/8 NPT to 1/4 NPT stainless bushing.

So if I Get the MR one, it should come with the new sender that just plugs right up to my old hose. Then, i just unbolt the screw that's in the oem location, plug it so not anti-freeze drains out, and then put the new sender in? that simple?

got some questions bout the water temp, anyone know what size the stock sensor is, if you can put a tee off it to make port for autometer gauge, been readin every thread about it... just tryin to figure out where to mount sender, any way to do this without having to tap? inline rad hose adapter is option, anyone know what size lude rad hoses are? one company said they only had 30mm, i think i could make this fit... anyone post pics or help me out would be appreciated, save me some time.. thanks
