'00 Accord Double DIN CD player Swap
I was wondering how difficult it would be for me to swap out my single disc double DIN CD player from my 2000 Accord EX 4-Cyl with a 6 disc model from 2002? Also, how hard would it be to wire in steering wheel controls? TIA.

The radio chassis themselves should be a direct drop-in. The big question is your second. I believe the wheel remote radio controls involve a unique sub-harness, steering wheel and other issues which escape me at the moment.
In effect, you'd have to find a "Parts Queen" that you can strip out all this that you'll need.
You may determine that it's far easier to slam a Kenwood, Alpine or some other Double-Din in there that has a remote.

A radio remote for the driver? Why not just reach over and do what you need to do?
I always thought those things were for people in the backseat.
Though I also would recommend just putting in a nice aftermarket Alpine. You can buy real nice MP3/WMA models now for $200 to $250. Or toss in a trunk mounted Alpine CD changer to connect to your current OEM radio which is what I did in my '99 LX.

Does anyone have a specific model to recommend? I am having a hard time finding Double-DIN CD players from the aftermarket that aren't also navigation systems and cost like $1000.

You don't have a double-din radio. You have a single-din radio with an optional CD player attached underneath.
Replace it with a single-din radio and either keep the CD player there (not connected) just so you don't have a hole, or figure out how to make that space a cubby hole like it was before they added the CD player.
As for which radio to get, if I were buying a radio today I'd get the Alpine CDA-9851. $229 at Crutchfield.

Actually, some radio options (model specific) could be either single Din or Double Din for the 6th Gen Accords. Note attached link:

Thanks for the link, I never knew that some 6th generations had a double-din stereo.
If HondaF1Fanatic wants to, can he replace his double-din with a single-din with a storage compartment underneath? How much would a compartment be?
Another option would be to install a trunk-mounted CD changer though I’d replace the head unit and put in a storage compartment if it’s possible. Unless you live in an area where people steal radios, of course, then go with the trunk mounted CD changer and OEM radio.
Here’s a link to some pictures of my ’99 LX’s trunk mounted CD changer (Alpine), and my OEM tape player complete with storage compartment:

LX models came with single-DIN, EX came with double-DIN. At least up through 2000. I forget if the LX model ever had a double-DIN in '01 or '02.
You can get a storage bin from nearly any car audio shop for usually $15 or less. Most dash kits for the Accord should be for single-DIN players and have a pocket underneath the deck.

Thanks for the information!

Like this one (from Crutchfield, free if you buy the head unit through them):

Very easy, and with the compartment.

Haha, yeah... The ashtray became an option/accesory when the 6th gens came out. I've never seen anyone actually buy it though.
