knocking from where help
i have a 96 itr engine in a hatch 96. I didn't have the air intake temp sensor connected for about 4 months because when I got it swapped I didn't really check for anything. But now when i wired it up and reset the ecu the car starts fine with no codes, but when i rev it up a couple of mins later i throw the knock code. But if don't connect the air intake temp sensor the knock doesn't go off. Can anyone please help i just adjusted my valves and they needing adjusting but it's still knocking.
You sure you have the right plug plugged in to the IAT? There are about 2-3 plugs in that area that look the same. Better check that, you can fry a portion of your ECU if the wrong plug is plugged in. Trust me, I know from experience.

i think i connected everything right i went off a helms manuel and here is what i know. connector D; Knock sensor wire is red/blue so i know i didn't connect IAT sensor to that, the IAT wire color is red/yellow and the other ground SG2 wire color is green and black. both wires i got from the harness, i opened it up near where the battery goes and got the wires from there and ran the to the IAT sensor. I was talking to my friend and he said maybe i need better gas i'm running 91 always have, i'm going to try an octane booster this weekend. any ideas

what forum does it go in yes it is a jdm motor I'm running the stock ecu for the motor. is was throwing a code. code 10 then i fixed that code and it starting code 23 knock. i would start it no codes step on the gas and go around block then the knock code goes off. so i check everything and my valves need adjusting so i adjusted them. reset ecu, same thing started the car no codes go around the block and knock code again. BUT if I unplug the IAT senor, i just throw that code BUT no knock. So i don't know whats going on. I mean Knock or IAT, it's one or the other but not both. any explanation for this. because i wanted to get some work done and buy some parts but i want the engine running good. I don't want to blow it up or hurt.
