haven't welded aluminum in a while so...

Default haven't welded aluminum in a while so...

thought i would lay a weld. Opinions welcome

aluminum looks good, except for the start and stop spots.
mild needs more amps.
stainless looks ok. more amps perhaps.

more amps on the steel? They both were welded at 135amps about 80 percent pedal on a 200 synchrowave...hmm?

2nd pic are 2 .5" thick mild flanges.

3rd sch10 to .5" thick mild flange

How do they not look right?

it doesnt look like its getting enough penitration. did you chamfer the flanges before you weled it or was it a straight up butt weld?

the flanges are straight welded in and out so I didn't chamfer them.

oh... that explains why the welds look like they were just sitting on top of the metal instead of penitrating.

in that case, they look fine!
