I ran into an old friend at the bar the other night, a kid he hangs out with was there, started talking to him about riding and whatnot. Find out he hit a deer on a 929 going around 90mph at night.

Story he told, was that he was coming home from a party, he didnt say anything about drinking, i hope he was smart enough to have not drank, anyway, comin home on the highway, said he was up and down from 120 - 80 most of the way home. When he was entering town, cresting a hill, he let off, and shortly after saw a deer about 20-30 yards out, crossing the road. grabbed both in a cautious manner, but not pulling hard. He said when he saw the first deer one jumped out in front of him so he only saw it for a second.

Apparantly they have pictures of the deer, the bike, and what he looked like afterwards, but we were at the bar soo...

anyway, he basicly just clipped the head of the deer, the head pretty much exploded, he went down, came too...picked up the bike, rode it home with no headlight, tails, seat, screen, busted lever, bent forks, and some other ****.

He figures he was going about 90, or somewhere around that when he hit the deer. He had NO helmet, Hoody, jeans, and boots...(like docs or something along those lines)

Kid was fine, i couldnt see any visible damage to him.

It pisses me off that people get away with that ****, dont get me wrong im glad the kids not dead, but then you see guys that religously wear gear/lid, get cut off at 40mph and die at the scene.

Its a fucked up world out there!

hopefully the kid learned a lesson(s). wear gear, dont haul *** through that section with deer xing.

 

Just pray that he doesn't ever need luck on his side again....it sounds like he's already used it all up that night.

 

Very true! this passed weekend I saw an accident where the rider flew meters and meters away from his crashed bike. He was stroke by a big pick up truck for what I could see. And I am also pretty sure he was just standing there at the intersection waiting to turn left. I didnt know the guy, but still, it is impressive to see those kinds of scenes where the only thing to think is that it could happened to any of us.

There are alot of people out there that make up stories like this just to "look cool". I was actually traveling yesterday high on meth and I smoked a hippo at 150mph. Scratched my elbow up a bit Who wants to be my friend!!

Yeah, that was definatly my first thought. The other kid that i knew, that was friends with this kid said it happened, and told me i should see the pictures. I dont trust alot of people, but i just didnt see reason for a buddy to lie to me over something like that.

Im 25 years old, and most of the people i hang out with are a little more mature than telling bullshit stories, but i suppose it could be possible.

At any rate, you see this **** happen to the people that dont wear gear and walk away unscathed, while people with full gear pay the price.
