f-series motors noisy valvetrain
i just got an accord i use to have a h22 prelude so im new to the whole f series. my valve train seems a bit noisy could this be because of the short ram intake or what i just got my valves professionaly adjusted and none were bent etc everything was fine i was just wondering is noisy valvetrain is common in F series
when I got my valves adjusted, it was a little noisy until it warmed up. once it warms up, there is no more sewing machine noise. dealer told me that this is normal for a few 100 miles afterward.
Are you sure it's the valves? You could be also hearing the ticking sound of the fuel injectors.
I have no valve noise whatsoever on my F23... I've never even adjusted them, and I'm at 160,000 or so miles.

well i just bought the car last monday and it seemed noisy to me so i got them adjusted on saturday and it sounds the same car runs real strong doesnt loose power or anything is this anything i should be concerned about
What year? Honda has a technical Bulletin for certain F22's ('97 F22B2 is involved) for excessive valve noise. It involves wear between the Cam Followers and the pivot shaft. I'll see if I can find it.

You should still be able to get away with a valve lash adjustment. The hint was your statement that it would go away once warm. The engines involved in the TSB would not.
There's a feeler gauge in your future

This man knows his ****.
Personally I'd do the valve lash adjustment myself, it's really not that hard. A feeler gauge can't cost more than 10$ these days.
I actually have a problem with this aswell, especially in cold wether, once the engine warms up the ticking goes away. Quite frankly with swap going in 3 weeks from now, I really couldn't be arsed to fix it . I can't see it being anything other than the valve lash.
