Default Compression Ratio

As well all know inside the 90-93 model year accord lies the F22 with a compression ratio of 8.8:1. This is low, for N/A, but this seems to be perfect to support a turbo running around 8ish psi. Is this correct to say, because I also have read on other posts that you should get 9.5:1 pistons with the turbo. But iam not too into blowing my head. What is going on here?

Thanks, Scott

9.5:1 Compression ratio is considered the absolute highest ratio which should be considered for Turbocharging. 8.2:1 to 8.8:1 is considered closer to ideal.
It's all about detonation, and what you've got to do to control it.
When you start at a lower c/r, you can dial additional boost to gain back the H/C advantage and still gain some b4 you have to worry about timing , water injection, methanol additives and custom a/f curves.
8.8:1 is a good place to start.
