Default the right decision ???!!!

i have a doch zc workinf perfectly. i was wondering how i can spend my 5000 from my tax return.
option 1:

b18c5 for 3000 complete swap
turbo kit tuned\installed for 1100

option 2:

get b18b swap for 800
build it up in my uncles machine shop with low compresion pistons and polish port head etc.
turbo kit tuned/installed for 1100
add gsr head

option 3:

keep the doch zc engine as is and continue my jdm legacy. so far i got the cleanest si interior ever, jdm taillight set. amber corners. i want to do the whole changeover. i can get the whole front clip for 500 excluding the engine. the rear wing jdm for 120. rims will stay the same.(gsr's).

please help out. im not as decisive in this as i should be. i dont want to make the mistake of machining my lt1 for my 96 formula at my house instead of building my 91 si hatch.

Um and saving this or some wiser idea is ruled out?

I would skip a c5 for boost a gsr would be cheaper and eaiser to work with for F/I.
I dunno where you get those deals and prices but I would aim for the 2nd opt also.

Why not spend 2k on a b16 swap, then spend the remaining 3k + whatever you sell the ZC for on JDM parts?

thanks for the post. i forgot about the h22. that has been lingering in my mind.

for that i got 2 options

option 1:
h22 complete swap installed and tuned for 3000

option 2:
h22r for 3000 plus ill install it (with the help of a mechanic veteran,,,my dad) and turbo it for and addl 1100.

btw, i threw out the b16 option cus theyre too slow for what i want. i want to go all the way, not half. and yes the selling of the zc is planned (which i forgot to mention) since the engine is running faster than any other zc doch i've seen so far, i got an offer for the whole thing @ 700 bucks.

and yes, what ever i do, sooner or later, the car is staying jdm, no matter what (no rice in my 2 item combo, hehe) keep in mind i also get most parts wholesale price. keep posting please,, this is an interesting topic

a complete h22 swap is going to cost more then 3000...the h22 complete swap from hmo wont work, your going to have to get the special mounts, axles, shift linkage, and send your harness out to have it converted to h22

I JUST TALKED TO A CONTACT of mine in so cali and he said hell get me the bottom of a b18b for 75 bucks. my other buddy has the arias pistons low compression, 9 to 1 ?, for the same engine for 80 bucks. all the signs are pointing to building a b18b for turbo with lsd trannie and soupped-up ls jhead non-vtec (i dont c the point in going vtec when my turbo is gonna make the little boost gain from v-tec irrelevant. i need more votes plz. thanks in advance

sounds like you have some good hookups. if i was you and you want big power build an h but just remeber that an h is a lower rpm motor so unless you are going to build it dont turn to many rpms. Its going to be some work to let you know. Custom mounts hydro trans conversion, custom axles, wiring.ect. There is a lot of work and money involved. There is ways to get around the hydro trans conversion. Quartersports drag makes b series adapter plates and Bisimoto makes d series adapter plates for the h series. If you were to go the lsvtec route you would be able to build up the motor by the way it sounds with your hookups for cheap. With the deals it sounds like you get you could get a well done lsvtec. I also know of a place that has a setup to make a lsvtec 2.1L. If you interested email me i can get you some information. SlipknotCraig133@charter.net

more work but much more power available with this setup, no need for a vtec motor if you want turbo (Not that there is anything wrong with Vtec Turbo) I just think with the money you will save from refraining from a Vtec motor will help you to make more usable power in your boosted LS setup.

a mutual fund is goo, the thing is im getting approx 50 g's a year and have no other expenses at 20 yrs old. i have a lot more money to spend every paycheck faster than what my mutual fun will mature. its to me like a credit card debt,, the faster i sacrifice myself to pay it, the faster i get out of the 'fishtank'. also, i get lazy the more i wait like mostppl my age so i gotta get it done asap or nver
