Default DASH LIGHTS OUT

I installed a new stereo, the car was on when i plugged it in and i could see a little electric shock or something when i clipped the adapters together from the stereo to the car. Now the gauge lights or the rear lights don't work. The weird thing is that i checked the fuses for the gauge and rear lights and they're just fine. It's a 94 Accord LX, any help would be great. Also, I checked the fuses that are in the engine compartment and one of them was blown and i replaced it, but i didn't make any difference, and i don't know what fuse it was because the sticker is gone off the fuse box. So if anyone has any other ideas that would be great

First of all you need to find what you wired wrong and fix it or any fuses you put in are going to blow again. Is the lighter working?
Check fuse #11 in your under dash fuse box
#36 and #39 in your under hood fuse box

OK, I figured out what was happening. When I installed it there was one extra wire in the harness coming from the car. It was orange/white actually if anyone knows what that is. There wasn't that color on the stereo so i just left it, but i didn't cover it and it was touching metal and causing a short, but i got it fixed and now everything works just fine. Thanks.

The oarnge white is the illumination wire. Why didn't you use an audio harness instead of butchering the stock one?
