Default are tune-up's worth it?

Hello, I am noticing a little difference in my 99 accord v6 when i accelerate. it almost feels like im not staying in first gear long enough. its barely noticeable and i thought i was just being paranoid at first. i know it would be hard to diagnose something like this but it was be nice if someone had heard of something like this. i was thinking about getting a tune-up but is it worth it? i called the honda dealership and they said it would cost $250. what exactly do they do and should i do it? could it possibly fix my problem?

thanks.

believe it or not, 99.999% of people don't sleep, dream and eat about car and honda's.

if you not really offering anything then why bother to waste your time for the "noobs"? huh?

how many miles you manage to rack up?

a 30K tune up would usuallyconsist of..

engine oil change
engine oil filter
engine oil drain washer
atf
atf bolt washer
valve lash adjustment(not app. on your hyd. valve v6's)
belt deflection check and adjustment.
coolant flush+refill
pressure check coolant cap
brake juice flush+bleed
brake pad check/replacement
air filter change
throttle body clean
idle throttle adjust
spark plug change/gap
spark wire resistance check
ps juice check
cabin maron filter change(x2)
timing check

etc

because you have a slushbox, you'll need to at least flush your tranny three time.

each time you need to drain and refill about 2.5-3 quart of ATF

they are like 5 buck a quart.

timing belt change, water pump and other seal should be done while you at it.

pressure check coolant cap

This is pretty close but I had to correct a few things (look for the **)
If you look in your owners manual you will find a maintnence schedule. I would go by that moreso than a dealers reccomendations because they like to throw some extra money goodies in there that aren't really needed.
Having a power steering fluid change or transmission fluid flush done isn't a bad thing as long as they don't use any additives (just straight fluid).

If you aren't comfortable doing the work yourself then by all means go to a dealer (be very cautious about going to a shop that is not Honda specific). But just pay attention to what the dealer wants to do compared to your owners manual guidelines. The 30K service at my dealer is about $300 parts and labor.

it's cold outside and I don't want to mess with my car so I am more than happy to pay honda to do my 90K checkup on my car. If it was summer time, I would most likely do this myself.

quick,

tell the dealership what u noticed recently & ask if the "tuneup" would help fix that...

don't go the other way around, because if they just perform the tuneup procedures & didn't fix what u wanted, then u will be pissed...

hmm, that might just be a normal function... depending on your driving habits & the mileage of your car now-80k. Trans flush w/ their honda machine to change out all the fluid @ once may help

if you're going the dealership route, ask if there are any open recalls & tell them to do it as well-free. I had wife's timing belt & other stuff done & they did a recall on the AC wire while it was there-no charge.
