Default car won't start... again

I recently changed the distributor on my car to try on another one to see if it worked, the one I tried didn't work so we put mine back on, when we cranked it, it sounded weird, it had spark and fuel pump was on; we took it off, figured maybe it wasn't positioned correclty, placed it back on, went in perfect but now my car won't start.... a friend of mine says i might have jumped timing, if so, how do i know, and how would you change the timing???

get a timing light and check your ignition timing. I think that it should be 12 degrees advanced.
