Wondering if anyone here is knowledegable yet on the 8th gen civic suspension...
What I want is the civic Si rear suspension setup and possibly the front too? now here are the specs. . .
Model.............2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX Manual Transmission....................................2006 Honda Civic Si 6-Spd MT
PERFORMANCE & ENGINEERING
Braking & Suspension
Steering System.........................Rack and Pinion............................................ ..........Rack and Pinion
Brake System (Front)..................Disc..................... .................................................. Disc
Brake System (Rear)...................Disc..................... .................................................. Disc
ABS Brakes................................Standard.... .................................................. ...........Standard
Suspension (Front) .....................Control-Link MacPherson Strut Front Suspension........Independent
Suspension (Rear)......................Reactive-Link Double Wishbone Rear Suspension........Independent

so what i'm wondering is can i swap out my EX's macpherson for the independent setup like the Si . . . (the independent on the Si .. is that like what the 2000 Si had?)
and here are pictures for reference
2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX Manual Transmission

2006 Honda Civic Si 6-Spd MT

now.. looking at the two, they look pretty damn similar... are they essentially the same? because they are going to have applications for Si only and other civic models... or so it seems
can anyone help clarrify any of this information... if i havent made myself clear, please let me know where i lost you... this decsion will help make or break me modding my EX

The suspension is the same, the chassis's are both the same, the only difference would be the heights and rates of the springs/shocks.

so lets say an aftermarket company such as SSR or Omnipower comes out with a rear LCA for the Si... i should be able to put that on my EX no problem at all then?

Id like to think yes, assuming the suspension geometry is the same, though I cant see the rear sway bar on the Si (I assume it has one) but it looks like the ENTIRE suspension can be swapped, though I don't know bit by bit. I'm an EK guy, havent learned this new frame yet. Bump for you.
