I took my fience's '99 Civic EX sedan on a 3 hour trip at night. We both had sodas we were drinking. But finding the SUCKY cup holders in a '99 EX is even HARDED at night! Anyoen ever put interior lights in the dash under the radio to shine down on the cig. lighter and the cup holders?

 

no, but a led light would do just fine wire it in right that way it comes on with the dash lights and that would work pretty good

 

agreed and now i just got an idea.

Good, you do it first and the you can DIY. Is I can learn from your mistakes. J/K! What wiring should I tap into for the LED, so it comes on with the dash lights? Should I go green or white, with a stock '99 EX?

 

My del sol has the ashtray lighted along with my old lebarron had the cup holder lighted.

What it was, theres like a hole in the cup holder or whatever covered by a piece of in both cases green plastic, behind it was a small bulb like the dash ones that lit them up.

For wiring just tap into the wire for the illumination on the radio, or the parking lights.

 

Yep, my fience's old car a '97 Saturn SC1 had lit cup holders that way. The '99 Civic does not come with a ashtray in the North American market so I guess Honda Corp. tought. Hey lets save money and not light the lighter socket or half the switches.

EVERY switch on my SAAB is lit and it is 10 years old. But it cost 41k new!
