I donno about the drop. It has 3" worth of thread but I doubt the engineering safe range is at the max since you want both the rings to be fully mated. I would say at least 2.5"

I bought 2 sets of these and they were the exactly the same, one for my '89 CRX Si (chassis ED) and the other for my roommates '96 Civic DX Coupe (EJ). They should work for all similar years 89-91 rex, 96-00 civics.
