Cam gear tuning and ignition timing? How to do both?

Hey, I just got Crower 403's and Skunk2 gears put on my LS, and I was wondering what I have to do with the ignition timing once I tune the cam gears. I know I should get it on a dyno for the cam gears, and I'm going to, but only after I get headers and an exhaust, maybe an FPR ( I have only an intake now besides the cams/gears). For right now I just want to set it at probably +2/-2 because although I know that probably isn't the absolute best, it seems to work for most LS owners and I want more midrange. So when I do this, I need to advance (retard?) the timing 4 degrees, right?? Since 2 deg. at the cam = 4 deg. at the crank? How would I do this through the alternator? Some clear, simple steps on how to do this would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks a lot!
get a timing light and hook it up to the #1 spark plug wire, then short out the ecu plug in the passenger side kickpanel and then start the car.. then loosen the bolts on the distributor and rotate it while looking at where the timing marks are on the crank pulley.. top of the dist. towards the firewall is advance and vice versa.

Hey thanks for the info. What do you mean by shorting out the ecu plug in the pass. kick panel? You mean the fuse, right? I thought the fuse for G3 Integras is the "Radio backup" fuse under the hood.....that's what I use to reset the ecu.
everytime you adjust the intake cam gear you change the ignition timing as well.....so it should be checked after every cam gear adjustment.
you're not resetting the ECU via backup fuse, you're shorting out the ecu connector plug.. it's in the area where the pass. kick panel is..

just use a paperclip
if you skip this step, supposedly the car will return the ignition timing to what it was before

I got the Crower 403's as well and AEM cam gears. My ignition is at 18 degrees BTDC and the gears are at +2/-2.
How do you like the cams? How do they feel?
