94& up LS intake manifold will it help???
hey i just finished my 92 ls swap in my 89 civic dx hatch..and i was wondering if swaping out my intake for a 94&up manifold would help...i hear the 94 are bigger and i am pretty sure that the TB is bigger also...my friend has a 94 manifold and said if it will help he will even trade me...i know we could just pulled it off and look but iwas just wondering if you could help out first......thanks.....
I don't think you'll feel any significant increase in power, it may help you out a little with top-end power. The 94+ manifolds do seem to have straighter runners from the plenum.
thanks for the quick reply..i am just searching for anything to help me out..i am on a very tight budget right now.....so far all i have is a air intake and 2.5 in exhaust pipe and a pro #1 muffler, tockico shocks and coilovers, upper and lower strut bars you know the usual ****.....
do the cams make considerable differance??cause i am sure i might be able to pick them up from my friend also....thanks for the help..any other suggestions??
yes the cams are slighly more aggresive. The only thing that would would be missing is the 93+ LS head ports are larger. That + cams + manifold is where they get the extra 12 hp from.
thats cool i guess i will try and pick up the cams...and now i am on the search for a 93 LS head....thanks for the help i am sure i can find one for a good price since everyone wants LS/VTEC now..thats why i am picking up this intake from my friend he has LS/VTEC and doesnt need this stuff...thanks again...

Yes, I've done this on my 91LS Turbo swap. I took this idea from a long time ago. Back when Steph Papadakis worked at JG while racing his 91 Black Civic Si LS style. Wow, how times have changed. I had my manifold high polished on the outside to match the valve cover, while port matching the runners and 94 bored T-body. The manifold is a lot cleaner looking from the outside compared to the older style. Couldn't tell you if I noticed a difference, as I did everything together. Running 326whp, it sure feels good!
