gas door problem 03/ep3
whats up guys i am having a problem with my gas door it will not open from the lever. I took it to the dealer and the played with it and it started to work, and then a week later it back to not opening. i just wanted to know if anyone was having this problem and if so what did you do to fix it.
Try this --
On the gas door itself, you'll see a little tab opposite of the hinge. That tab catches on a little nub on the car, and when you pull the release lever, the nub retracts and lets the door pop open.
If you SLIGHTLY bend the tab inwards (that is, towards the hinge), it'll release more easily. I'd suggest just pushing on it a bit rather than trying to bend it. It doesn't take much of a tweak to get it to work.
You'll also be able to reach the release cable from the removable panel that you'd normally use to get to the taillight bulbs.

I actually just had my dealer order a new cable for gas door. Ive been using a screw driver to pop it open for about a year, and i took it in, and apparantly there was serious metal fatigue on the fuel door cable. They are doing it for free, so just take your car in.
