Default Remote Starter for Manual Transmission

First off, I am well aware this real stupid.

However, if you have a sensor that senses where the stick is, it isn't stupid is it???

What I want to know is, does the transmisson have a wire that comes out of it that can sense if it is in neutral. IF so, I think you can come up with a way to make this work.

If anyone knows about the wires coming off the tranny, please let me know.

Any I say again, I am well aware of how stupid a remote starter is on a car that is stick, unless all safety precautions are implemented.

Thanks

DON'T DO IT! One day it will haunt you. I've seen them start a car with e-brake on and didn't stall and cruised down the street 15-20mph to their DOOM! Someone could be killed. No Joke.

That would be if you are a moron.

I have remote start on my car. Just make sure:

1. NEVER leave your car in gear when it's off.

2. Deactivate the remote start when lending your car to you sister/brother or something.

Other than that, it's perfectly safe. I know a bunch of people with this - no problems.

That is not safe. What happens if you are drunk as hell and forget what you are doing, which you shouldn't be driving anyway. The only perfectly safe way is to have the stick in neutral, which the starter can sense. It will require some extra switches, but it is safe.

I have one installed on my GSR with a clifford alarm. I feel its safe because there is a sequence you go through before you turn the car off so it knows it is in neutral
