Default *HELP speedometer stopped working after swap....

when i took my car out for the first time after the swap the speedometer worked fine, then it went crazy and now it's dead... along with my trip meter and odometer... the swap was OBD1 to OBD1, could it just be a fuse?

Umm...

Not that I don't agree with these guys that the VSS should definately be checked out...but what is it? What kinda swap is from, and what is it into (year, model trim, etc.).

first check ur vss...then if its not that then its possibly a loose wire in ur cluster or a lose ground wire somewhere

Also if you cut the VTEC plugs off the main harness to wire independently you might have cut the ground that the VSS and VTEC share.

shyt.... it stopped working again today, and i only got to drive with vtec for 17 miles!!!... i have no idea what it could be. the way i fixed it the first time is i just started moving around the wires to the vss and some other wires and it worked. then i went to take my friend for a ride and shifted hard to second (1st hit vtec) then it just didnt work in 2nd. i think when i shifted i jerked something loose that i fixed earlier when i messed with the wires, but idk.... oh yeah and we re-wired all of the wires from vtec pressure, vtec and the knock sensor, back into the ecu. i was thinking it has something to do with the ground because both vtec and the vss isnt working, but all of them are good. any help would be appreciated.

I would just carefully cut into the harness extend the grounds crimp on a ring terminal and ground it somewhere, rather then hunt down the break in the wiring.

this has something to do with your vss (vehicle speed sensor) its located on top of your tranny, check the ground to it.
