check fuel cap light
Got a new Accord LX SE 3 weeks ago. I have put 400 miles on it so far. One fill-up. I have about half a tank of gas left and the "check fuel cap" light is coming on. I have checked and re-closed it a couple of times and it still comes on.
Any ideas?
Also...when I have the heat or a/c on, there is kind of a very faint but bitter chemically smell coming in. Is this normal for a new car?

It will take a few drives to reset the light. (don't know why, but it does) On my car the crazy little black plastic wire that holds the cap on (in case you drop it) gets between the cap and the filler pipe, and that's what keeps it from sealing right. So watch out for that when you fill up. I think it has some information about that in your owner's manual, in case you want to read up on it (the smell thing too).
Make sure your cap is tight and all. Reset the light as mentioned above and see if it pops back up. If it pops back up you might have a faulty gas cap. But with 400 miles that seems a bit low to have a gas cap problem but you never know.
