9006 HID Adjustment
I have a 97 accord and i just installed my HID's and there pretty crooked. I adjusted it to the max of height and the farthest left it can go and my left headlight is still aiming to the right. Can anyone help please.
BTW: My Right one is fine just my left one is aiming toward the middle

You shouldnt be doing that really...use the car manual for aiming tips, but since it's HID, i'd aim it as low to the ground as I can because you'll be shooting up mad glare that will be blinding other drivers...HID kits in halogen reflector housings are not ones for efficiency...

I dind't know you could adjust the beam of an OEM headlight left to right, or is this one of those aftermarket projector headlights from ebay?

yeah in the manual it says to turn the screws to adjust up and down and left and right. I did both but it is still really off and no this is not a projector kit from ebay it's just 9006 bulbs in my stock housings. is there anyway to move the whole headlight because on the screws i have about 1 thread left on both sides but it still shoots really weird. Thanks guys btw

Sweet, I wish the 6th and 7th gen would too.
lazyxazianxboi if it's adjusted to the max then that's as good as it's gonn get. Perhpas you can adjust the other headlight to make it more symmetrical.

Take it to a shop with the halogens installed, have them aim your headlights using the proper aiming machine, ask them to aim your headlights slightly lower than usual. Go home and reinstall your HID's.

i may be wrong, but i thought you weren't supposed to put the HIDs in the stock housing cuz the HIDs emit too much heat and you could burn somethin up. thats just what i heard tho.

Sort of. The amount of energy used to start up an HID kit will eventually fry the stock wiring harness. Otherwise heat isnt the issue...glare for other drivers is

Glare yes, that's why you should have the headlamps aimed properly by a shop with halogens and aimed slightly lower than usual, The amount of energy used to start up an HID is high but very short, it will not fry up a harness unless you are using it on a car from the 1970's, I've been running HID's in cars with stock harnesses for well over 1 yr with no problems.

HID's emit less heat. They draw 35W vs 55W [Halogens]. When people talk about things melting they talk about HID looking halogen bulbs, because they draw as much as 100W. OEM HIDs draw 35W.

I've taken apart many 6th gen accord headlights for retrofitting. There are two adjustment screws and both are attached to the reflector for up & down adjustment. There is no right and left.
I'm not trying to argue with you Bionic... But on my car, I can aim the lights left and right. I even went out last night and messed with it just to make sure I wasn't going crazy. I watched the beams move left and right against the wall in front of my car. Even the Haynes manual describes both the vertical and horizontal adjustments.

No, I know you aren't. I have lots of respect for you.
The 6th gen accord has two adjustmnet screws, and both of them are attached to the reflector. There is a pivot point at the bottom of the reflector. Thus, there are three points at which the reflector is connected. When you adjust one part, you may tourqe the reflector so that it looks as if the reflector is going to the right or left but you are actually turning/bending the reflector. I do not encourage this, but I guarantee you that if you keep on adjusting that one adjuster that supposely turn the reflector left to right, your reflector will snapp in half.
We have customers with 6th gen accord headlights who think that one screw is for up and down adjsutment and the other for left and right. Consequently, we have to take the headlight apart and restore a broken reflector.
Hope this helps.
