Default SI Head on HF

I have a 1st gen CRX HF and I was wondering if an SI head would fit on my HF block??? I know that the SI head will fit on the DX, but that doesn't help me any...

you mean second gen. there was no hf in the first gen. you either got a carbed crx or a si model that was fuel injected. with that said, if you have a 88-91 crx then its a second gen. now as far as putting a si head on the hf motor...

yes it will fit. is it worth it, no. the reason being because the hf motor is a all around gas saver motor. the rods are thin and wont handle high rpm's very well. so it really isnt worth doing it unless your in need of a head. might as well just drop the si motor in there and the transmission as well.

85 CRX HF, yes the made them but they are rare. They made an SI whic is fuel injected and they made the HF and the DX which are both carbed... But thanks anyways!!! This sways the deal though: HF engine=78000 miles SI engine=210000.

Yes there was a 1st gen HF and it was carbed.

I don't think you can use the Si head because the 1st gen Si was MPFI and the DX and HF were carb motors. You might want to check out RedpepperRacing.com for more info on the 1st gen CRX.

yes and the dx is not carb'd. it just uses 2 fuel injectors instead of 4
