4-5G Prelude air intake... TUBE, SIDE BRANCH what?

Here, part number 25 "TUBE, SIDE BRANCH" I see one end connects to the intake tube, but where does the other end connect? Is it sucking in unfiltered air or connected to another part of the air intake or what?
Thanks

No, a resonator placed like that is for intake noise and wave tuning.

bingo, thats all it does.
it doesn't really disrupt air flow, from what the techs at honda tell me anyways.

Tired of the head-turning, cop-attention-getting noise of open air intakes I've adapted a 5th gen Prelude intake pipe to fit the stock Accord air box (minus external resonator). I just capped off that hole with a rubber plug that fit perfectly but if I wanted to be real **** I guess I could put on the proper side branch tube.
