Default Thinking about a SOHC ZC swap into my EF Hatch. Got a few ?'s.

Well, took my car in to get fixed, and they wanted to do a valve job, cylinder bore, etc, for $1300 because my #2 cylinder wasn't even firing. Well, obviously, I said expletive that and now i'm looking to get the ever-so cheap, SOHC ZC replacement.
My question is, I know you can re-use your stock tranny, axles, radiator, mounts, etc. but is there anything that I cannot re-use? I'm just buying a longblock off of H-motors, so the main parts that I am concerned about are the ECU and shift linkage. Are they re-useable? And if you know of anything else that cannot be re-used please say something! I have a very low budget for this project and only want to replace what is absolutely necessary!

Well, i figured out that the ECU needs to be from an SI or even better from the ZC.

What modle EF do you have? Is it MPFI at least?

When you state, SOHC ZC -are you speaking about the OBD0, which I would assume. If so, all good but maybe the below issues -if not, you are speaking about the OBD1 and if you are running that tight of a budget, there are better ways to go.

The shiftlinkage and axles will work, along with just about everything else except for maybe the ECU, depending on your model.

If you do have a DX, not only will you have to change out the ecu, but you will have to do a conversion for your wiring of either purchasing a wiring harness conversion set up or trying to do the conversion yourself. Then you will need either an SI ECU or the JDM ZC -but the SI will be fine and probably your cheapest way to find something.
