Default JDM BB6 prelude navigation + digital climate control system

As I posted about JDM climate control kits that I am making for 4 gen prelude ( https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1452156 ), many people asked me if I can have such thing for a 5 gen prelude.

A friend of mine is selling such kit, even more sophisticated because it includes navigation and television:

That looks pretty tight, but could you even use the navigation here in the states? i dunno if the maps and stuff would be available for US roads.

I am unable to confirm at 100% it will work, I think nobody is, however:
- when they tried, TV worked here in Poland,
- the navigation unit that is in trunk has a CD inside, this CD contains not only japanese maps, but also operating system. In other words the hardware is not matched to any region / language, it is the CD. So I can suppose if you put a different CD with different data / language it will cause the system to recognise other maps / language. The GPS antenna that is included works everywhere in the world. The system when was switched on when was still in car, showed correctly the geographical coordinates, of course as they were out of japanese map there was no navi functionality. The other things that wewr independent of map worked (as said television, radio, climate control etc. all this options could be controlled via touchscreen).

If you find out who makes the cd map, you could check if they sell cds here in the us too.

I'm wondering if you would be able to hook this up to a harddrive in say the trunk and play your music off the touchscreen using a loader program? I think I've heard of someone doing this in a fourth gen...

That sucks that it's the damn wood grain console. Wish it was the stock, or carbon fiber one. But I might still jump on it...

you could always lay a little sheet of that fake carbon fiber over it, or even spray it flat black....either way it would look fine....

edit: oh and about using a hard drive in the back....if you could get into the software and make a few adjustments that would be fully possible

No navi for 4 gen even in JDM cars

Some 5 gen had it as an optional equipement, but very rarely, probably because of a very high price.

Only JDM automatic climate control for 4 gen is available.

Yes, you are right. I remember it too.

But it was not a navi system with climate control "inside" as in 5 gen case.

I built my own - touchscreen in dash, PC in boot. Does Nav, Music, Video, DVD - also planning to run Uberdata on it when I get my chipped ecu for hard-wired, on-the-fly logging and tuning.
