Default d16y7 swap WON'T START!

i did a 96 d16y7 swap on my 1990 wagon (d16a6)

i only used the d16y7 head and block and everything from the wagon like intake manifold, exhaust, alternator, dizzy, harness etc. using a crx si trans though

after everything was in already i tried starting it up but it won't even crank up! all the lines and wires are pluged in correctly but still it won't crank up

any help from you guys would be great

BTW this is my first swap

Double check , triple check grounds, check fuses, insure the starter signal wire (black/white) is connected.

Perhaps starter is going.

check fuses and grounds. Clean all grounding spots to bare metal. I know you said you checked them but I thought i had checked mine previously and BAM my car worked after triple checking them.

There should be the thermostat housing, valve cover to rad support, and tranny to frame to battery terminal.

Also look in your underhood fuse and look at the battery fuse and see if thats blown.

Also perhaps your main relay is going out is out

You have a drain somewhere. Check all your wiring. Sounds like your grounding out and killing the battery. Maybe even your alternator isn't powering the battery. Check that too.

As for the clutch...dead clutch maybe, time to get a new one! I know that 88-89 and 90-91 clutches are sensitive to there years and the flywheel. Maybe you have an issue with that. But odds are you have a dead clutch. Adjust it to make sure it's releasing properly, if it is, and it's not grabbing, it's dead.

i think i better check the timing again, coz i only put it on TDC and turned it 90 deg counter clockwise then put the dizzy in

as for the clutch it is new would the shaft that goes in the clutch be broken easily?

The input shaft? No...

The timing would do nothing to crank the engine over, leave it alone for now. Find out why it ain't cranking over. Hot wire your starter. Run direct power to it, see if it turns. It might be dead. Give it a few taps with a hammer while its cranking it could be jammed.

Hmm...use a multimeter and check for voltage. I think your wiring is fucked up somewhere. And I know you say it's perfect, but I thought mine was perfect too until my engine started to over heat and I found out I didn't plug my fan in. Ya, **** like that ain't cool. Good thing I caught it and it was only running for 20 minutes.
