Default BRAKE PROLEMS ON 88 CRX SI

wuts up ery 1? i just bought my crx about 3 weeks ago and its a great car which i plan on building up to an extent being that it is my daily driver. but not before i fix my dang brake situation.

ok about 3 days ago i noticed my front driver side rotor was GLOWING ORANGE when i got home from work and the next day i found that my clipers (front) where not fully releasing when not depressed. i've been tryin take care of the situation but so far no luck. i've replaced the MC, both calipers, the proportioning valve and the hoses. i havent replaced the rotors or pads yet because i'm waiting till this is solved as i want to install cross-drilled rotors w/ ceramic pads along with rear disc conversion from a da1 integra w/ cross-drilled rotors and ceramic pads. i want to remedy this problem first so as not to
warp my new rotors. i cant figure this out i need help!

the only thing left i didn't change is the booster. i didn't touch the rear yet but i don't notice any problems back there. i bench bled the MC before installing it and i also bought a vacuum pump to bleed the lines.

every thing was new except the PV that came from the junk yard. my pedal is really tight and firm, and pressure doesn't release from the calipers. could it be the used PV, air in the lines, do i have to adjust my pedal height or something. i don't know but i'm mreally pissed at all the $$$$$ i spent this week on brake stuff not to mention
the 2 days i called of work to fix this.

please help, any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.

also check the brake pushrod-to-booster clearance and the clearance between booster and MC. wrong adjustments here can cause 'mysterious' brake dragging problems.

take off your calipers and take out those rods. Clean them with a wire brush and throw some grease on there. Make sure they move smooth. i had the same problem and that fixed it. Good luck

Getting enough vaccum to the MC. IF you have a horrid leak you get no brakes and a mushy pedal.

thx 4 da help guys but i think ive found the problem. its either the brake booster or that check valve on the vacuum line. when i disconnected the hose at the intake it didn't do nothing, but when i disconnect it from the check valve it released some pressure and the calipers loosened up immediatly !
arrg!!! all the money i spent and it was something dumb. ive been driving around all day
with the booster disconnected and my brakes are fine other than being hard due to the lack of power assist. but they are not sticking any more
i'm gonna replace the check valve first and then the booster if needed. it looks like a biznatch to remove cause its cramped under the dash.

you *might* not want to go with cross drilled rotors.. the crack really easily.. and even brembo cross drilled rotors aren't warrented because of this.

i had a similar problem you did, and i solved it by just rebuilding the master cylinder i had. the one that autozone insisted was the correct one was infact not.

are they still doing the exact same thing? or is it something different now.
