Cold start idle on Power FC
Right now every morning i start my car and it goes up to 2000rpm and then falls to 1500rpm bout 45sec-60sec later.
The tuner is closed for Chinese New Year and i have my commander hooked on.
Thing is i could find the option to lower the cold start iddle.
Can it be accessed from the commander or do i need to hook it up to the laptop to lower it?

You can change the idle speed with the commander.
Go into settings, it's under "rev/idle" or "rpm/idle" I don't recall exactly offhand. In there you can change the idle speeds.

Is this function for normal iddle when the car is warmed up?
My question is about when i start the car after it has been parked overnight
I will go and look for the function under in my commander settings.
Thanks Reid!

My idle is pretty normal when using a Power FC, even with 440cc injectors.
If you can't find the setting, I'll go plug my Power FC in the car and take some pics for you. Just let me know.

I believe the cold idle setting can only be changed through the Power Excel software and maybe the Datalogit hack. There are two idle RPM settings available to change through the FC COmmander. One is for when there is no electrical load and the other is for when electrical load is present (when ac and/or fan and or headlights, are on etc).
This is my first winter with the Power FC and I noticed exactly the same thing you described. It would shoot up to 2000rpms and it would stay there for about 15-seconds then it would drop down to say 1800rpms -> 1500rpms -> 1100rpms -> 800rpms. The time it took from to drop down from cold idle at 2000rpms to the normal idle at 800rpms was normal. If I remember correctly, with the stock ECU, the cold idle was between 1700rpms-1800rpms. The 2000rpm cold-idle issue only lasted for about 3 weeks and now when I turn the car on, it idles at 1700rpms-1800rpms. I believe the Power FC has the ability to "learn how to idle on the fly" even after the initial idle initialization exercise that the ECU needs to go through when you first installed it in the car. When your car is fully warmed up, what does it idle at?
Hope that helps. How cold does it get in Kuala Laumpur?
***EDIT***
Just to add, I believe the cold idle is tied into the readings off of the ECT sensor. I know this is probably obvious but if you monitor the Water Temp reading on the FC Commander along with idle, you'll notice that the multiple idle drops than happen when you first start the car correspond to specific readings on the Water Temp. At least that's what happens with my car.

Thanks Reid for the pics!
I think the settings i am looking for is when i start up the car in the morning not during normal iddle
CPR,
The tuner set my iddle at 1000rpm and even when i switch on the a/c the iddle barely moves
In Kuala Lumpur we cant live without a/c
Coldest we get during the night maybe 82f and during the day is 90f + haha......

Reid,
Does it make a diffrence if i change the settings with or without starting up the engine?
Also what does the other 2 option F/C A.E & A/C mean?
I see urs is set to 1200rpm & 1400rpm.

It does not matter if you change the settings with the car on or off.
F/C = Deceleration fuel cut

I think it means that when off throttle, fuel is cut until the engine comes down to that rpm, then the injectors start to squirt again so as to avoid stalling as the engine settles in at idle.
isn't there a process you have to follow upon install of the power FC to set the idle correctly? i'm not talking about any settings in the unit, but a sequence of things to do to let the pfc learn how to set your idle correctly. it's included in the instruction manual that comes with the pfc.
