Brake lines, fittings, and line tucking!
Howdy everyone...
This weekend I am moving onto my brake line tuck which will relocate my prop valve and lines behind the dashboard on the firewall.
Would anyone know the best place to buy hard lines, fittings, line bender, and flare tool necessary for this? As always... I will post pictures of my progress! Thanks!

i got 75ft of 3/16th line off of ebay for 25 bucks. a local guy to me sells benders pretty cheap, also sells them on ebay, like 19 bucks or so.
as for a flare tool, the 45* tools can be bought at home depot or lowes, or you can just do it on ebay, lol.
the fittings you could get from summit or jegs.
if you want ill look up who exactly i got the line and bender from

have u looked into nhra rules as far as brake line routing ?
from what im reading ...
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Brake lines must be steel,
steel-braided, or DOT-approved flexible and routed outside the
framerail, or enclosed in a 16-inch length of 1/8-inch-minimum wall-
thickness steel tubing securely mounted where line(s) pass
the flywheel bellhousing area and not routed in the driveline tunnel.
All brake lines must be attached to chassis as per OEM style;
hoses must have mounting brackets; no tie wraps, tape, etc.</TD></TR></TABLE>
just curious how u plan on routing any steel braided lines...
heres some pics from my setup last year.

*note the lines dropping down from the master into the chassis of the car.
i wonder if that would pass tech ? i never tried.

u mentioned hard lines and benders so maybe this isn't any concern to you, but this is how i was planning on running my lines again on the new car. hmmm.

if your gonna be bending hard line to re-route then just use the oem fittings that you will be removing. save some money, just be careful when loosing them cause cause theyre kinda soft material.
i got a line bender, flare tool and pipe cutter from home depot in the plumbing section. so if u got a home depot or lowes or whatever you have over there on the east coast, check there first. ive seen hardlines at a local parts store like schucks, carquest or autozone.

When you guys bent your hardlines. did you have one piece going all the way from the Prop Valve to the fenderwell?? for the brake line, or did u have to fit, like 2, or 3 different sections together, to get the route u wanted on the hardline??
do it all as one piece.......and if you trying to hide it you can run it under the frame rail into the inside of the fender well (staying out of the engine bay all together)
I got all the fittings and SS Line from Summit. I got the AN flare tool and tube bender from a local hydrualic store. I dont' really care about racing sanctioned events so not really concerned with nhra rules...

Thats really personal preference, LOTS of places (like my old work where we made high pressure stainless hose assemblies) will simply not do brake lines for anything. I even had to buy my stainless replacements from an aftermarket company instead of making them during lunch lol
They aren't really intended for this type of use, but there are guys that do it and they seem to have it work okay.
I wouldnt do it when you need to rely on them though...which for most people is all the time lol
I will do stainless teflon for my rear brake setup on a solid rear axle most likely though. There isn't that much weight and its super easy to work with! (But its for staging only)
Lou, did you ever do this yet?</TD></TR></TABLE>
yea i had heard that most places dont do break lines but the place i went to never asked what i was gona use them for...
